Talented Students from Tula to Discuss Career with Authorities and Business
On March 11, Tula will host a practical session themed “Young People of Sustainable Future”. The event will take place as part of participants’ selection for the Sustainable Future of Russia Platform for Young Professionals and will offer students and young specialists from Tula a splendid opportunity to present their ideas to experts from the leading Russian and international companies.
Young people will be able to discuss career prospects and education problems with representatives of authorities, business and higher education institutions. The session will feature an open dialogue dubbed “The Portrait of a Young Talent of Russia”. Its participants will discuss the key competences of young people, present the opinion of the authorities, business and higher education institutions. The discussion will be attended by Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, deputy governor of the Tula Region, who will tell about graduates’ career prospects in the public sector, as well as development of the youth policy in the region. The standpoint of the socially responsible business will be presented by Irina Antyushina, manager for sustainable development programs, charity and funds at Unilever, and Alexey Shipov, Managing Director of the Sustainable Future of Russia Platform for Young Professionals and Member of the Board of ACIG Group of Companies.
The entire program of the practical session will be in the form of young people’s interactive communication with representatives of business and authorities, and will become a platform that can be used by young specialists to obtain a competent consultation on the possible areas for developing their ideas.
“Students should not be afraid of the word “session” (which means an examination period in Russia), as our event has nothing to do with exams and assessment of knowledge. On the contrary, at such events we usually discuss things that you won’t learn about from university lectures”, Dmitry Lenkevich, Executive Director of the Sustainable Future of Russia Platform for Young Professionals, says. “We invite young people that are interested in additional self-fulfillment potential, development of their own professional competences and career, as well as putting their ideas and projects into practice, to come to our session on March 11. Participants from Tula have already spoken out at the Platform earlier and we hope to see Tula students this year again”.
Session participants will also be able to take part in a range of development activities prepared by the Platform organizers and partners. Thus, Konstantin Voytikov, director of the Tula-based Unilever factory, will deliver a lecture entitled “Zero Waste to Landfill in the Unilever Production Chain”.
Following the defense of their project ideas authors of the best initiatives will be invited to become Platform participants, continue their work on the projects with guidance of experts in specific fields and compete for the main prizes of the Sustainable Future of Russia Platform for Young Professionals – educational grants, probation and employment with the largest companies.
