A General Meeting of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia was held on 5 April.

On 5 April, a General Meeting of members of the Association of Economic Cooperation of Russia’s regions – Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) was held. The meeting was opened and held by Sergey E. Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of AIRR.

The Meeting was joined by the heads of a number of Russian regions: Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnoyarsk and Perm Territories, Kaluga, Novosibirsk and Tomsk Regions; members of the Supervisory Council of the Association, heads of regions who filed applications for joining AIRR. Representatives of ACIG Group of Companies took active part in preparation and work of the General Meeting of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia: Yuri S. Fedyukin, director of the legal and tax consulting department, Anton Yu. Chuklin, member of the Management Board of the Group.

The agenda of the General Meeting included a number of issues of current interest for AIRR. The members of the Association considered an application for joining it from several regions, including Republic of Bashkortostan, Lipetsk, Samara and Ulyanovsk Regions. Also, the Supervisory Board of the Association and the Council of the Association were re-elected. The members of the Meeting unanimously elected Rustam N. Minnikhanov Chairman of the Council of the Association. Vladimir M. Kononov was elected Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Council, Viktor M. Kress joined the Supervisory Council of AIRR.

The Association of Innovative Regions of Russia was established in December 2010. Initially, AIRR consisted of 8 Russia's regions: Republic of Mordovia, Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Perm Territory, Irkutsk, Kaluga, Novosibirsk and Tomsk Oblasts. The partners of the Association are: RUSNANO JSC, RVK JSC, The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Joining of four new regions into the structure of the Association encourages development, implementation and deployment of new innovative development programs and creation of modern grounds for dialogue between the state and private sectors in search of new methods of support and development of the regions.
