Member of the ACIG Board Alexander Plakida takes part in the annual meeting of the UN Global Compact Network Russia
On December 17, the annual meeting of the UN Global Compact Network Russia took place in Moscow. Today the UN Global Compact Network Russia comprises over 75 companies and public organizations.
Member of the ACIG Board Alexander Plakida took part in the meeting as an official dialog partner of the UN Global Compact Initiative.
At the meeting the Chairman of the Steering Committee Alexander Ivanov noted the achievements of the most active participants and presented them with letters of gratitude for their contribution to the development of the network and promotion of the Global Ccompact principles. Besides, the report on the work of the UN Global Compact Network in the Russian Federation in 2013 was presented and the perspectives for institutional development of the UN Global Compact Network Russia in 2014-2015 were discussed. The participants of the meeting noted that one of the key tasks for development was achieving better performance and expansion. The efforts to attain this goal will be continued in January 2014.
"The consolidated efforts of the UN Global Compact Network participants, as well as expansion of this organization, are the key tasks for the incoming year. The growing number of the companies following the principles safeguarding human rights, labour relations, environmental protection and anti-corruption is the foundation for establishing an effective and transparent environment for business and society", Alexander Plakida noted.
*Global Compact was established in July 2000 and became the largest volunteer imitative in the field of socially responsible business. Today the Compact includes thousands of participants from over 130 countries of the world.
