On December 17-20 Bangkok (the Kingdom of Thailand) hosted the Ministerial Conference on Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration in Asia and the Pacific organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

As an official dialog partner of the UN Global Compact initiative the experts of the ACIG Group of Companies took part in the ministerial conference and high-level energy policy dialog aimed at sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific. The ministerial conference continued a series of the UNESCAP high-level meetings facilitating regional economic integration in Asia and the Pacific.

Within the framework of the event recognized international exerts, heads of governments, ministers and high-ranking politicians of the UNESCAP member states discussed the theses of the Bangkok Declaration prepared during preliminary consultations on regional economic cooperation and integration in Asia and the Pacific covering a wide range of issues related to economic cooperation and integration in the region and transregional cooperation in energy and finance.

According to the ACIG experts, coherence and cooperation of the countries in the region provides for effective development of a series of global initiatives, in particular Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) and the Asia-Pacific Energy Forum Action Plan adopted by energy ministers of 67 countries in May this year in Vladivostok. "Strategies aimed at development of supranational links, including establishment of the Asia Energy Highway, represent a large-scale effort requiring, first of all, consolidation of regional initiatives, estimation of possible mechanisms for implementation and identifying energy and technological capacity of the countries. Active participation of stakeholders: banks, non-governmental organizations and research institutions, is not less important", ACIG experts noted
