Chairman of the ACIG Supervisory Board Viktor Tolmachev takes part in the new academic year opening ceremony at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration

On September 2, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration held a new academic year opening ceremony.

The following representatives of government authorities, public organizations and businesses addressed the first-year students: First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Zhukov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Directorate for Public Administration and Personnel Sergei Savchenko, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow Maksim Reshetnikov, General Director of RBC-TV Aleksandr Lyubimov, President of the Association of Russian Banks Garegin Tosunyan, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes Andrei Makarov, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Luybov Savelyeva, Head of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of the City of Moscow Aleksei Komissarov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Veniamin Yakovlev, Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Russia Aleksandr Ivlev, Director of the Department of State Policy in International Relations of the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Zhuravsky and Chairman of the ACIG Supervisory Board Viktor Tolmachev.

In his welcoming speech, Rector of the RANEPA Vladimir Mau congratulated the students on the beginning of their studies at the country’s major university: "I believe that the future of each student is in his or her own hands. Economic miracle, as well as personal success, belongs to the historians of the future. At the starting point no one knows which stupid idea is going to be a success and which reasonable scheme will fail. Therefore, you need to study well and work hard, anyway, where there's a will there's a way. Good luck to you all!" Vladimir Mau also emphasized the importance of support the Academy receives from its graduates.

Chairman of the ACIG Supervisory Board Viktor Tolmachev also addressed the students with a welcoming speech. "I wish that following your graduation from the Academy and when you find your place, your life goals, love and friends, deep in your soul you could stay like children. Never grow up, be spontaneous, creative and look at your life enthusiastically. How to achieve what you want? There is one more important thing apart from books and diligence – you should never forget your teachers, don’t take them only as teachers, but take them as elder colleagues and friends, and many years later you will understand how it enriches your life", Viktor Tolmachev said.

In his turn, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Zhukov noted that the Academy enjoys well-deserved recognition among school-leavers and its graduates are in high demand at civil service. "Perhaps, you will decide to become a State Duma Deputy of the Russian Federation. Deputies with such a diploma will be an ornament to the Russian parliament", – he commented.

"The Academy is a perfect springboard for further development in a great variety of fields. I don’t know any other university which gives you equal chances to build your career in business, civil service and major corporations queuing for RANEPA graduates", – the Head of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of the City of Moscow Aleksei Komissarov noted.

Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Russia Aleksandr Ivlev emphasized that "apart from profound theoretical knowledge, the Academy provides its students with practical skills and ability to make right decisions, work in a team and think outside the box."

The ceremony finished with a laser show. As part of the entertaining program, the group called Radio Kamerger performed classic musical pieces.
