Chairman of the ACIG Supervisory Board Viktor Tolmachev takes part in the official visit of the Russian delegation to the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic

On October 7-8, as Russia is taking over the rotating presidency of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council, the official visit of the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergei Naryshkin to the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic took place. At the initiative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, House of Parliamentary Representatives and National Council of the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the ACIG Supervisory Board Viktor Tolmachev took part in the regular meeting of the Council.

In accordance with the work plan of the Council, strengthening the cooperation mechanisms to ensure the security of the CSTO area of responsibility’s external borders, including development and adoption of preventive measures to address the challenges and threats emanating from Afghanistan, in the context of the reduction of foreign military presence in this country in 2014, was introduced for consideration by the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. In addition, the issues of improving the joint operational and combat training of control agencies and forming forces and means of the CSTO collective security through conducting joint military exercises and combat training of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF) and equipping them with modern weaponry, military and special technology as well as preparing the CSTO Peacekeeping forces to the practical participation in the peacekeeping operations were also addressed.
