Association of Innovative Regions of Russia Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary

Tomsk hosted the second U-NOVUS forum of young scientists on 21 to 22 May. Events and activities dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, strategic partner of ACIG Group of Companies, were held there.

Rustam Minnikhanov, temporary acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan; Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of Tomsk region; Anton Chuklin, Member of the Supervisory Board of ACIG and Deputy Executive Director of the Association, participated in the forum.

The celebration, entitled Innovative Development of Russia from Technoparks to Current Tasks, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Association and the twenty-fifth anniversary of technoparks in Russia with a concert took place on 21 May. The results of the five years of activities of the Association and plans for the future were announced at the meeting of its Board on 22 May. Experts believe that the Association has become a respected interregional platform that helps solve complex tasks of regional innovative development in these five years.

“AIRR member regions account for a quarter of all expenses for technological innovations and one fifth of all innovation products across the country. Every ninth innovative enterprise works in these states. The Association compiles a rating of innovative regions annually, and its member regions are at the top of it, which is well deserved,” Chair of the Association Board Minnikhanov said.

A lot has been done in legislative activities, cluster economies of the member regions have been created and relations with many similar institutions abroad have been established in these five years.

“Five years are the period that allows us to evaluate the efficiency of the work done. A lot has been done for development of innovations in the member regions, but it is no less important that we see what the future holds for the Association, we see what we have to work on in the future and what activities to unwind thanks to cooperation, ongoing dialogue and cooperation between all interested parties,” Mr. Chuklin said.
