RANEPA Celebrates New Academic Year

On September 1, 2015, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration held an official ceremony marking a new academic year. High guests took part in this event and congratulated students. 

At the beginning some interesting facts about the Academy were mentioned. For example, today RANEPA is the largest higher education institution in the country, has 61 branches in 53 federal subjects of the Russian Federation. Almost two hundred thousand students and trainees of all modes of study take classes at the Academy all around the country. Only in Moscow study about 15 000 people. The Academy welcomed more than 3 000 first year students this year.

Opening the ceremony, Vladimir Mau, Rector of RANEPA, greeted the guests. He wished students success and severities, specifying that severities during studying encourage rewarding career in future. “I am glad that you joined us, I wish you to study well! Here we have everything that might be interesting for you, - he said to the students, - I wish you will benefit, and teaching staff of the Academy will help you”.

Then representative of the Board of Trustees addressed the students. Aleksey Komissarov, General Director of Industry Development Fund and Counselor to the Mayor of Moscow, highlighted that the Academy guarantees not only good education, but great atmosphere and campus life. “As an employer, I can say that when RANEPA students had internships in our fund, and I was impressed with their qualification”, he said and wished everyone to find their own way.

Alexander Ivlev, EY Country Managing Partner, when congratulating students, underlined that they are lucky: “This is the leading institution where you will learn how to work in a team, make decisions, take responsibility and be leaders”.

Victor Tolmachev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ACIG Group of Companies, turned students’ attention to the fact that during their campus life they will have to find a balance between studies and communication. “Your task is to reach harmony and believe in yourselves. You will bring the knowledge that you gain during student years though you life. Good luck! Go for it and be afraid of nothing!”, Victor Tolmachev added.  

Ruben Aganbegyan, Chairman of the Executive Board of FK Otkrytie, also welcomed the audience and wished students study well and find friends. “It is very important for you to graduate from the Academy having an established system of reference. Congratulations! We will be waiting for you in our Company in the future”, he said.

As a gift for everyone artists of the ‘Spasskaya Tower’ Festival (Central Military and of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense) and drummers from Cadet boarding school No. 9 performed. Another performance by the Band of the Russian Emergency Ministry with a mix of famous compositions became a spectacular closure of the Ceremony.
