ACIG Group of Companies acts as operator of the roundtable "Social Sciences and Government" held in memory of Tatyana Zaslavskaya at the Gaidar Forum 2014

On January 17 the roundtable "Social Sciences and Government" organized in memory of Tatyana Zaslavskaya will take place at the Gaidar Forum 2014.

Tatyana Zaslavskaya – a prominent Russian sociologist and economist – was the author and co-author of more than 150 research publications and 15 monographs. Her research activities based on studying social and economic mechanism of transformation of the Russian society and transformation of the institutional and social stratification has had a significant impact on development of social science in the Soviet period. In the mid1980s, Tatyana Zaslavskaya offered a new paradigm of research and announced such scientific discipline as economic sociology. Besides, upon her initiative the annual international interdisciplinary symposium "Where Is Russia Going?" was held for 10 years, which focused on the most important issues of the country’s social development.

The participants of this roundtable will discuss how science influences political decision-making, cooperation of economists and sociologists in shaping expert knowledge and interdisciplinary approaches towards analysis of social processes, economic, socio-structural and cultural transformations in the Russian society and human capital in Russia.

The Gaidar Forum is one of the major annual scientific events of the international level in the field of economics in Russia. In 2014, the Forum takes place on January 15-18 and is dedicated to one of the most pressing modern challenges – sustainable development.
