ACIG to act as an organizer of the 2nd Annual All-Russian Competition of Research and Project Works of Students and Post-Graduates “Sustainable Future for Russia”

On January 19, 2013, on the last day of the Gaidar Forum “Russia and the World: Challenges of Integration”, the solemn award ceremony for the winners of the contest “Sustainable Future of Russia” will take place.

As usual, ACIG and Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration were organizers of the contest.

The purpose of the contest is comprehensive support of students and post-graduates, oriented on the Russia’s sustainable future and strengthening the country’s innovational and social-oriented culture, training system development.

In view of Russia’s strategic purposes, demanding new approaches and ways of addressing various problems, including public sector effectiveness, social sphere development and ensuring environmental safety, in 2012, the organizers of the event defined the following themes of the contest:

1. Enhancing quality and availability of state services;

2. Developing public institutions is a condition for Russia’s sustainable development;

3. Developing a concept of generally adopted and/or alternative methods to address the problem of waste reclamation in the Russian Federation (including those in legislation and necessary infrastructure).

During preliminary rounds, the Organizing Committee of the contest received more than 230 applications for participation from students and post-graduates from 111 Russian institutions of higher education.  9 participants made it to the final round.

Vladimir Mau, Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, and Viktor Tolmachev, Chairman of the ACIG Supervisory Board, will open the award ceremony.

As a reward, finalists of the contest will have an opportunity to choose education program, its cost will be determined by the prize-winning place. The right to choose the program: training, advanced training, foreign language courses or creative and personal development rests with the winners.
