Membership of the Government Commission for the implementation of information technologies to the state and local authorities’ activity increases.

The Government of the Russian Federation increased the membership of the Government Commission for the implementation of information technologies to the state and local authorities’ activity.

More specifically, the commission is afforced by Ruslan Gattarov, the member Council Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Information Policy of the Russian Federation, as well as Boris Titov, Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation for business rights.

The Commission is a coordinating body established for concerted actions of federal and regional authorities aimed at elaboration and implementation of state policy in the sphere of development and use of information technologies in the public administration, including the issues of establishing an information society and e-Government in the Russian Federation.

The main tasks of the Commission are coordination of the activity of the federal executive authorities and executive government bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation on the following issues:

  • determining a unified policy in the sphere of development and use of information technologies in the public administration;

  • elaborating and implementing measures aimed at extending the use of information technologies for improvement of quality and availability of state and municipal services rendered to organizations and citizens;

  • increasing efficiency in the use of information technologies in state authorities’ activity;

  • increasing efficiency of interdepartmental cooperation and internal operation of state authorities’ activity based on the use of information technologies.

The commission is headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Head of the Russian Federation Government Office Vladislav Surkov. It comprises representatives from the Government of the Russian Federation, State Duma of the Russian Federation, federal ministries and agencies, branch-wise companies and regions.
