On January 17, 2013, direct transmission of the panel discussion “Atom for Peace as a Catalyst of Integration” to be broadcasted

On January 16, the solemn opening of the Gaidar Forum-2013 "Russia and the World: Challenges of Integration" took place in the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. In the opening speech, RANEPA Rector Vladimir Mau emphasized that the present day challenge is the following question: How to ensure global macroeconomic regulation maintaining national state.

The key guest and expert of the first day of the Forum was Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, who participated in the plenary discussion "Russia and the Global Challenges of Integration". In his speech, Prime Minister gave an estimate of the world economic situation and remarked that "Russia has all opportunities necessary to become one of the key connecting links of global integration processes and implement its geopolitical advantages". Dmitry Medvedev also stressed that the Government needs to maintain social and political stability, but combination of these approaches requires noticeable efforts.

Among prominent guests on the first day of the Forum were Aleksei Kudrin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy, Otaviano Canuto, Vice President of the World Bank, Robert Mundell, Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics (1999), Anton Siluanov, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, Aleksei Ulyukaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Kseniya Yudaeva, Head of the Expert Department of the President of the Russian Federation and Sherpa of the Russian Federation in G20.

On the following days of the Forum, on January 17-19, will be in the form of plenary discussions and expert round tables, whose participants will be able to recount and discuss their understanding of key trends and challenges of economic development and integration.

One of the significant events of the second day of the Forum, January 17, will be panel discussion "Atom for Peace as a Catalyst of Integration", organized by ACIG Group of companies and Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

Within the framework of the panel discussion, the heads of the leading corporations, international non-commercial and public organizations in the field of nuclear energy development, as well as leading scientists and experts, will take part in the discussion of the following topics:

  • Global integration processes and Intergovernmental nuclear projects;
  • Strengthening nuclear and radiation safety cooperation;
  • Effective economy of the atomic energy industry;
  • Innovation industry development, implementation of technological know-how and new management technologies.
