Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, to participate in the International Conference "Medicine and Sport: New Challenges"
On April 23, 2013, the international conference "Medicine and Sport: New Challenges" will take place on the basis of the ongoing discussion platform "Efficient Health Care". The event is organized by the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) with the support of the Business Administration of the President of the Russian Federation. ACIG Group of Companies is the Conference operator.
The conference will be opened by Vladimir Mau, Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, and Aleksandr Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and President of the Russian Olympic Committee.
Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Veronika Skvortsova, permanent expert of the discussion platform "Effective Health Care", will also participate in the Conference.
Priority directions of the Strategy of physical culture and sport development till 2020 are creating new specialized sports objects and holding international events aimed at attracting public attention to the importance of healthy way of life.
The large international sports competitions planned till 2018, including Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi, determined the topics of the on-coming Conference.
The key topics of the three sessions will be as follows:
- relevant objectives of the sports medicine for physical culture and mass sport - "sport for everyone";
- social security and social insurance for sportsmen;
- innovation-based development in "sport for everyone": basics of the personalized medicine of the future; recent trends in remedial gymnastics.
The plenary reports will be given by Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shelpakov, Deputy Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Stradze, Director of the Additional Education, Upbringing and Youth Policy Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Alashkevich, Deputy Director of the Department of Budget Policy in Social Affairs and Science of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, and others.
The experts of the Conference will include the heads of federal and regional ministries and government agencies, extra-budgetary social security funds, sports federations, public sports organizations, medical and educational institutions.
As always, the discussion results will be summarized and submitted as proposals for consideration to the field-specific federal executive and legislative bodies.
